Our #1 location that we picked from the list is a nice new hotel that has all rooms facing the parking lot and we have here a few times ourselves and found it to be a good hotel for us is the Comfort Inn at 2506 Trimmer Road 76541.  I have listed a few other hotel here on the map above should you wish some other place.
 

You will need to check in at Area Access on the base for you access pass & badge.  Basically you will need driver license, and Truck Lic. plate #. And first timer will have to watch a 7 minute film.  Grab a map, and you are ready for FUN.    You must check out with the Area Access office at the end of your day. No one is allowed on the play grounds after dark.    Directions to the Area Access Post: From the Trimmer, you will head west to Fort Hood Base exit, this will put you on Hood Road. Head north the end of the road, At the "T" crossing go to the north side road and head west about 1/8 mile. The entry will have a sign with some thing about "hunting" and will wind to the left and you will see the "Area Access" building.

 

Don't for get to bring some drinks and food for during the day - Warning no Alcohol on base
