MVC-415F.JPG (60542 bytes) Here is the kit as it came from Phoenix Micro-lite.  Philips D2S bulb & ballast same as used in the Eagle Eye fro JC Whitney.  The lens was at the time by Maxtel (Personally, I don't like them)
Mvc-417f.jpg (51335 bytes) Here is the HID bulb and adaptor with shield as I got it.  I later made some changes of my own to improve light pattern and to reduce more the of glare to the on coming traffic.
Image1.jpg (62304 bytes) Here I move the shield to the other side, but you can still see the point where the light is generated at on the HID bulb.  You will note the standard H4 has the same point shielded from view.
Image2.jpg (31557 bytes) Here I have moved the shield down closer to the base and added an extra shield on the top to help cut down the front view but the shield was not large enough. This was also later changed by Phoenix Micro-lite to help improve the lighting.

1, A large shield is required over the front of the bulb to help cut down the side glare. Other wise this is a problem during fog or rainy nights, as it will light up the area in front of the driver.  A lenses like the Zelmot (on the left) or Hella, has the required shield with in lenses.
2. The shield need to be less reflective, right now this is producing some of the stray light. This lens was the Maxtel lens (on the right)  that came with the kit.
