Aux. A/C Unit - OLD PAGE
It was bad enough with having to take this truck back to the shop every 4 weeks to have Ron Carter "Fix it". It cooled a little, but with in four weeks, no more cool A/C air. It was not until they replaced just about most of the A/C equipment that it stopped leaking. Then when they had to replace the engine, they did not even recharge the A/C unit. Once they did, it leaked with in a week. They just do not know how to do a job right.
So took it to a local A/C shop (Any Make Auto Air) and they fixed the leak first time. I had asked the A/C shop what they improve on the A/C system. No Problem! They ordered a "Aux.Expansion coil & Blower" and it will be installed in the same place as the Aux. A/C unit that the factory or dealership adds. Below are a few photos before installation.

One of the other nice items about the new aux. a/c unit is that it will remove the 4 hoses that are 40-48 inches long before getting to the vents. This will increase the air flow to the front vents that is needed. The factory installed A/C unit back in 93 really was under sized for a wagon. |
Dealer installed unit will cost about $1500 -$1600 for just the equipment, labor extra. Mine was about $500, and another $200 for the final connections and charging it.Any Make Auto Air
